1326346 Portable hair-washing basins J S GUARRASI 28 April 1971 11778/71 Heading A4N [Also in Division A6] A portable hair-wash sink assembly 10 comprises a hollow closed container divided into a water supply chamber 12 and a waste water reservoir by a partition wall 32, the upper wall of said container being shaped above said reservoir to define a basin 16, the basin being communicable with the reservoir, a spray nozzle 44 connected by a hose 14 to the water supply in the chamber 12, a manually operable pump 38 for supplying water under pressure to the nozzle, and a pair of shoulder boards 20 extending upwardly and outwardly from the container adjacent the basin, said boards being spaced apart to receive the neck of a user and being provided with a concave upper surface to receive waste water running of the head of the user and direct it into the basin yoke 22 of arcuate configuration is removably attached to the free ends of the shoulder boards 20 and serves as a continuation of the latter for enclosing the neck of the user. A pressure cap (48), Fig.4 (not shown), is provided in a cover plate 34 and is removable to release the pressure in the chamber 12 after use and to permit refilling. The front wall 31 of the container is provided with a wall portion (60), Fig. 3 (not shown), shaped to provide a rest for the back of the user's neck. The thicker portion 58 of the front wall 31 has the shoulder boards 20 formed as continuations integrally therewith. The neck yoke 22 has a bottom wall 66 bordered by upstanding flanges (67) and 68, and has at its ends clip members 69 moulded integrally therewith for attachment to the boards 20. A stop valve 80 is provided on the spray nozzle 44, and the pump 38 may alternatively be motor driven. The assembly 10 may be placed at the head of a bed, Fig.1 (not shown), or mounted on a portable support stand (86), Fig. 5 (not shown).
