1326219 Glycol esters HALCON INTERNATIONAL Inc 4 Aug 1970 [4 Aug 1969] 37602/70 Heading C2C Glycol esters of olefins are prepared by contacting a vapour feed mixture of an olefin and a molecular oxygen-contaiing gas in a reanction zone with at least one carboxylic acid in the liquid phase in the presence of an effective amount of a halogen selected from at least one of bromine, chlorine, or a bromine or chlorine containing compound and an effective amount of at least one variable valence cation selected from Te, Sb, Ce, Mn, As and Co and maintaining the water content of the liquid phase reaction medium below 15% by weight.
