Abstract

1325612 Polyurethane compositions DEXTER CORP and BRUNSWICK CORP 17 Dec 1970 [15 May 1970] 60028/70 Heading C3R [Also in Divisions A6 and B2] A curable liquid coating composition comprises 5 to 99À8% by weight of a moisturecurable polyurethane precursor film-former and from 0À2 to 10% by weight based on the weight of the polyurethane precursor, of a finely divided slip producing agent which is solid at room temperature, is selected from polyethylene, polypropylene, fluorocarbon polymers, fluorocarbon telomers and nylon and is uniformly dispersed throughout the composition. The polyurethane precursor material may be of the one or two package type and may be thinned with solvents. Polyethylene is the preferred slip producing agent, preferably of the solid, crystalline type having a molecule weight of 500 to 4000. Curing catalysts and/or cross linking agents may be incorporated in the composition. The coating may be applied to bowling lane surfaces by brushing or by using a drawbar or lane finish applicator. The dry film may be buffed or polished before applying any conditioners.
