Abstract

1324191 Cellulosic excipient SHINETSU CHEMICAL CO 16 Oct 1970 [17 Oct 1969 23 March 1970] 49260/70 Heading A5B [Also in Division C3] An excipient for medicaments comprises a powdery cellulose ether of apparent density 0.5 to 0.8 g/cc at least 90% of which has a particle size less than 100Á (see Div. C3). In examples tablets are made using this excipient and containing (a) bromvaleryl urea, (b) Vitamin C, (c) pancreatin and cholic acid, (d) mephenesin and (e) calcium hydrogen phosphate; optional ingredients are talc, wax, calcium and magnesium stearates, lactose, starch, cane sugar, gum arabic, gum tragacanth, gelatin, water and alcohol.
