Abstract
1322929 Angular bending of tubes FOSTER WHEELER CORP 14 Oct 1970 [14 Oct 1969] 48877/70 Heading B3E A bent tube is further bent into a small radius between a pair of outer dies 12 and an inner die 14 which have cavities for receiving the tube and are movable in unison from an open to a closed position where the outer dies abut each other. The pair of outer dies 12 and the inner die 14 have co-ordinated movement by means of a pair of links 16 and a yoke 18 accommodating the outer dies in converging guideways 76, 78. The yoke is reciprocated along a pair of side supports 60 by a power cylinder 80, so that the outer dies and inner die are brought together at a uniform rate of movement. The tube is heated before bending.
