Abstract

1321379 Tray PLASTICS INC 28 April 1971 11983/71 Heading A4A [Also in Division B5] A serving tray comprises a body formed of a plastics material having a base 12 with an upstanding peripheral wall 16, a rib 14 formed on and extending downwardly from said base, a flat stiffening member 18 positioned and secured against the base within the rib. The rib extends round the base inwards from its periphery. The rib may be open at the top as shown or may be solid. The stiffening member 18 is secured in the well defined by the rib 14 and the base and is equal in size to the well and has a thickness equal to the depth of rib 14. The member 18 may be secured by adhesive to the base of the tray. Without the stiffening member the tray would not be sufficiently rigid to support items of tableware. The stiffening may be of a different material from that used for the tray and may be corrugated cardboard.
