Abstract

1321088 Magnetic recording and playback BRITISH BROADCASTING CORP 20 Aug 1971 [21 Aug 1970] 40483/70 Heading G5R A flexible sheet is coated on one side with a magnetic recording medium and is supported so that the other side of the sheet is adjacent to a recording and/or playback head. As shown, in a temporary store for delaying a sound radio programme, a flexible plastics disc 14 with a magnetic oxide coating 10 on one side is clamped between two rings 11, 12 at its periphery and is stretched by a flange 19 when screws 16 are tightened. Three locating holes, two smaller and one larger, in the disc engage corresponding pins on a turntable. A recording head and a playback head follow the same circular track on the disc.
