Abstract

1320662 Spectrophotometer NOVOSIBIRSKY INSTITUT ORGANICHESKOI KHIMII SIBIRSKOGO OTDELENIA AKADEMII NAUK SSSR 6 Jan 1972 699/72 Heading G1A [Also in Division G2] A photo-electric spectrometer is provided with a beam switching means including a concave mirror and an oscillated convex mirror, between the monochromator exit slit and the detector, so as to direct the monochromatic light alternately through a test and a reference sample to the detector. The light path comprises source 1, condenser 3 collecting lens 5, entrance slit 4, entrance collimating mirror 6, diffraction grating 7, exit collimating mirror and slit 8, 10, collecting lens 11 and mirror objective 12 for focussing light on to detector 17 via test and reference samples 13, 14 alternatively. Objective 12 comprises an annular concave mirror, which directs light reflected from oscillated convex mirror 15 to cover the same portion of the photomultiplier (17) cathode surface no matter which path (sample or reference) is effective. To remove the effect of the flickering shadow caused by the oscillating mirror and shaft, an opaque screen 9 is provided in the monochromator light path.
