1320438 Roll dispenser; article dispensers OMRON TATEISI ELECTRONICS CO 1 Oct 1971 [ 15 Oct 1970] 45736/71 Headings A4G and A4T [ Also in Divisions B8 and G4] Article dispensing apparatus comprises a carrier strip 21 defining a plurality of carrier sections 22 each of which contains a predetermined number of articles to be dispensed and is provided at one side thereof with an opening 41 of such a size that said articles cannot pass through the opening but can be seen therethrough; means for storing said carrier strip; and means for dispensing as many of said carrier sections as are required. The opening in the carrier section enables the customer to check the number of articles contained therein without breaking or cutting the carrier section open. The particular embodiments described are credit-card freed bank-note dispensers Fig. 1, (not shown) provided with a display window (12) for indicating operating instructions to the customer and amount selection buttons (14) to (18). In the embodiment shown the carrier strip is stored on a roller R from which it is fed by sprocket wheels 26 and rollers 27, past a photodetector 29 which co-operates with a light source 28 and holes 24 in the carrier strip to determine whether any bank-notes are present, to a guillotine mechanism 30-33 and dispensing slot 19.
