Abstract
1319245 Fluid pressure braking systems CLAYTON DEWANDRE CO Ltd 19 April 1971 [8 April 1970] 16712/70 Heading F2F A dual brake valve and safety valve unit for power hydraulic braking systems comprises two valve assemblies disposed in a common housing 1 for actuation through a balancing beam 19 and a safety valve associated with each of the said assemblies accommodated in the same housing, the pressure fluid inlet 23 to each assembly being branched and led to the associated safety valve which when open discharges the pressure fluid to a reservoir or return line via a port 16. Each valve assembly has a ball 5 co-operating with a fixed seating 6 to control flow of fluid to a brake cylinder via a port 9 under the influence of a hollow plunger 7 which when displaced closes the return connection and moves the ball 5 off its seating to establish communication between the fluid supply and the port 9. Each safety valve has a ball member 30 seating on a valve seat 32 under the pressure of a spring.
