Abstract
1319153 Magnetic storage devices FUJI DENKI KAGAKU KK 21 Oct 1970 [27 Oct 1969] 49938/70 Heading H3B A magnetic storage device comprises a laminated ferrite body having two orthogonal sets of parallel tunnels containing removable drive conductors, the tunnels each having a flat face of width l and having a height h such that h #0À5l. Fig. 2b shows two orthogonal tunnels 5, 6 whose cross-sections are a segment of a circle. The requirement that h # 0À5l produces an optimum ratio of the length of the flux path around the crossing point of the tunnels, L 1 , to the distance around one tunnel, L 2 . This optimum ratio of L 2 : L 1 , which is about 0À68, reduces back voltages, speeds switching, and reduces output waveform distortion. The device may be made by pressing wires into two green ferrite sheets and laminating the sheets together. Suitable tunnel cross-sections are rectangular, triangular, segmental and trapezoidal; flux path lengths for these sections are given, Fig. 5 (not shown).
