April 1971 [16 April 1971] 9647/71 Heading A5B A method of promoting localized weight loss in human beings comprises applying an absorbent material soaked in a liquid which will produce faster loss of heat by evaporation than water but slower and more prolonged loss of heat than would be produced by I.M.S. The absorbent material may be a crepe bandage. The liquid may comprise water, I.M.S., menthol camphor, NaCl, KI and CaCl 2 .
