Abstract

1317696 Apparatus for heating sauna baths BAHCO VENTILATION AB 25 Nov 1971 [7 Jan 1971] 54843/71 Heading A4N [Also in Division H5] A convection air unit Fig.1 for use in a sauna bath comprises a secondary heat exchanger 13 interposed between the jacket 1 and the inner heat storage container 10 carrying the heating elements 2 the heat exchanger having a greater circumference than its jacket. The exchanger 13 comprises an annular vertically corrugated metal sheet having a radiated-heat absorbing surface facing the elements. A reflective surface is provided on the inner wall of the exchanger 13. Stones are used for heat storage in the container 10 which may be also provided with a water container 11, having partial insulation, 12, Fig.1 to adjust humidity in the bath. Wall mounting means 7 are provided for the supporting frame 6, 7 and a tray 8 collects surplus water running from the stones during use of the bath. The elements 2 are in the form of tube-encapsulated loops. In an alternative construction, the outer jacket supports the wall 13 which in turn supports the container 10.
