Abstract

1316035 Washing ampoules RICHTER GEDEON VEGYESZETI GYAR RT 1 June 1971 18357/71 Heading B8T A machine for washing ampoules (24) (Fig.2, not shown), comprises a casing 10 defining a water chamber 12 in which a drum 16 is mounted as a shaft 18, said casing 10 having two ultrasonic units (14a, 14b) (Fig. 2, not shown) on opposite sides of the drum. The ampoules are loaded into magazines 22 which are attached to the outside of the drum 16 whereupon the chamber 12 is evacuated to about 100 Torr through an air valve (34) (Fig. 2 not shown) and washing liquid is introduced through a valve (36). The air valve (34) is then connected to the atmosphere which causes the liquid to penetrate into the ampoules (24). The drum 16 is rotated at 5 rpm so that the ampoules pass under the influence of the ultrasonic units (14a, 14b), after which the speed is increased to 750 rpm and a drain valve 38 is opened. As a result, the liquid in the chamber 12 is drained, and the liquid in the ampoules is removed by the action of centrifugal force.
