Abstract

1314708 Amino acids KIEVSKY ORDENA LENINA MYASOKOMBINAT 9 July 1970 33274/70 Heading C2C A method of producing amino acids from protein-containing raw materials comprises subjecting the protein-containing raw material to acidic hydrolysis by heating under pressure of 1 atmosphere (gauge) until a test for protein gives a negative result, purifying the hydrolysate thus obtained with activated charcoal and evaporating said hydrolysate to a dry matter content not exceeding 70 wt. per cent, cooling the evaporated solution, separating the precipitate formed, dissolving said precipitate in water, neutralizing the solution with aqueous ammonia and separating glutamic acid salt, neutralizing the mother liquor remaining after separation of the glutamic acid salt with an alkali to a pH of from 5 to 5À8, separating the precipitate formed, treating the precipitate with an aqueous solution of sodium carbonate of a concentration of up to 3 wt. per cent in the ratio of 1 part by weight of the precipitate per 5 parts by weight of the sodium carbonate solution whereby cystine, lysine, histidine and arginine pass into solution wherefrom they are isolated and tyrosine and leucine are isolated from the precipitate formed. An example is furnished.
