1313440 2-Methylenepropane-1,3-diol from its diacetate KNAPSACK AG 27 Oct 1971 [9 Nov 1970] 49914/71 Heading C2C 2-Methylenepropane-1,3-diol is made by heating its diacetate with a C 1-3 alkanol in the presence of an alkali metal carbonate, cyanide, alkoxide or hydroxide and separating, by distillation, the desired diol from the alkyl acetate formed by ester-interchange.
