Abstract

1312284 Fabric cleaning composition PPG INDUSTRIES Inc 10 Sept 1970 [11 Sept 1969] 43326/70 Heading C5D [Also in Division D1] A fabric may be washed by (a) contacting it with a two-phase cleaning liquid comprising as continuous phase a water-immiscible organic solvent and as discontinuous phase an aqueous bleach solution and (b) rinsing it with a waterimmiscible organic solvent containing a minor amount of an alcohol. The organic solvent may be a C 1-3 halogenated hydrocarbon, e.g. 1,1,1- trichloroethane. The bleach may be H 2 O 2 or sodium hypochlorite. The cleaning liquid may also include a long chain alkyl sodium phosphate.
