1310399 Preserving foods LENINGRADSKY TEKNOLOGICHESKY INSTITUT KHOLODILNOI PROMYSHLENNOSTI and LENINGRADSKY PIVOVARENNY ZAVOD IMENI STEPANA RAZINA 23 Oct 1970 50371/70 Heading A2D [Also in Division A5] An antibacterial and antimycotic preparation useful, e.g. for preventing rope disease of wheat bread and for suppressing alien microflora in eggs when under storage, is prepared by steeping barley corns in water at a temperature not greater than 25‹C for 16-48 hours to form an aqueous extract, passing the extract through a cationic exchange resin in H<SP>+</SP> form to adsorb the preparation thereon, eluting the resin with an organic solvent to deadsorb the preparation and isolating the preparation from the eluate.
