Abstract

1310326 Endless chain conveyers M MONNE 26 May 1971 [28 May 1970] 17228/71 Heading B8A A chain conveyer, comprises a plurality of interconnected links 2, 3, means 4 for supporting loads from at least some of the links and guide and support structure 9 for the links, at least a support surface 10 of the structure having an anti-friction face 11 on which the links can slide, the face being formed with undulations 11a extending in a direction such that they form hydrodynamic wedges of lubricant with champhered leading and trailing edges of the links 3. The links 3 have two part-spherical recesses 5, one at each longitudinal end portion thereof, and the links 2 have two balls 8, one at each end thereof, and engaged in corresponding recesses 5. The anti-friction face 11 is self-lubricating and is capable of retaining lubrication. Faces 11 are provided on each structure 9 at 10, 12 and 13. Each face may have a recess supplied with lubricant by a conduit opening into a flange of the structure 9 (Fig. 4, not shown).
