Abstract
1310004 Two-part injection mould carrier DESMA-WERKE GmbH 19 April 1971 [25 April 1970] 26759/71 Heading B5A A two-part mould carrier, especially for injection moulds for moulding polyurethane or vulcanizing moulds, is constructed to be tiltable about two mutually perpendicular axes and locked in the tilted position, the mould opening and closing linkage being power operated. The mould carrier parts 14 and 15 carry mould halves 11 and 12, the lower carrier being supported on an intermediate member 18 pivoted at 21 to a bracket 19 which is slotted at 22 to receive guide bolts 23, projecting from the intermediate member 18, to enable the lower carrier to be tilted about the pivot 21 and locked in position. The brackets 19 are connected by webs and fastened to a support 20 by means of a pivot bearing 24 and a pair of screws 25 located in slots so that the assembly may be tilted about the pivot 24 and locked in position. The two carrier parts are connected by hinge 16 with adjustment 17 to vary the alignment between the parts to cater for wedge-shaped moulds or moulds of different thicknesses. The opening and closing mechanism comprises a toggle device having a strut 27 connected to the upper carrier by a pivot 33 and to a frame cross-member 30 linking side members 28 and 29 which are pivoted about 21 and linked at their lower ends to a fluid-pressure operated piston. The arrangement is such that operation of the mechanism does not stress the support bracket fixings.
