Abstract

1309720 Curtains; runners R E WHITE 25 Jan 1972 3373 /72 Heading A4B and A4S Shower curtains, suspended by hooks 21 from a rail 16, have beaded outer edges which are received, and resiliently retained, in restricted entry slots 15 in flexible plastics sealing strips 10 which are secured to walls at each end of a bath tub by a waterproof pressure-sensitive coating 12 after it is exposed by removal of a paper strip 13. The beaded edge is formed by folding thin waterproof material forming the curtain round a flexible string, bar or vinyl cord 20 and adhering the curtain to itself and/or the cord. Corner blocks 18, formed of the same material as the strip, are adhered to the walls and top of the bath tub and have a restricted entry slot to receive the beaded edge. The inner edge of one of the curtains is mounted by a fixed ring 24a, and rings 24 slidable in a slot 23, on a carrier member 22, which is suspended by hooks 25 from the rail 16, to overlap the inner edge of the other curtain. The lower end of the hooks 25 have ridges which lock into recesses in the member 22. In a modification the sealing strip is secured to the wall by spaced suction cups. (For Figures see next page)
