Abstract
1309225 Purifying organophosphorus esters MONSANTO CO 27 April 1971 [28 April 1970] 11596/71 Heading C2P [Also in Division C5] An organophosphorus ester of the Formula I where R<SP>1</SP>, R<SP>11</SP> and R<SP>111</SP> are substituted or unsubstituted alkyl or aryl, X is oxygen or sulphur and a and b are 0 or 1, is purified by contacting the ester with a wash solution containing as a wash-improving agent an aminoalkylenephosphonic acid or salt thereof. The aminoalkylene phosphonic acid preferably has one of the Formulµ II to V where R 1 and R 2 are hydrogen, hydroxyl, amino, an organic radical or an alkylene phosphonic acid group, R 3 and R 4 are hydrogen or an organic radical, R 5 , R 6 and R 7 are hydrogen, a methylenephosphonic acid group or C 1-18 alkyl, R 8 to R 16 are hydrogen, C 1-12 alkyl or a methylene phosphonic acid group, n in Formulµ III and IV is 1 to 8 and n in Formula V is 1 to 6. The wash solution may be water or sodium hydroxide and may contain the wash-improving agent in an amount of 0À01 to 10% by weight based on the ester of Formula I.
