Abstract

1308301 Road cleaning machines NON-IMPACT SURFACES Ltd 5 March 1970 [10 March 1969] 12562/69 Heading E1G A road cleaning machine has an endless conveyor 13 with spaced blades 24 extending into an inclined chute 10 of channel section, the conveyor passing around a roller 16 which is adjustably spaced by resilient means from the base of the chute. Roller 16 is rotatably carried on arms 22 pivoted to pillars 23 rigid with chute 10. Screw 25 in arm 22 is biassed against the side of the chute by spring 29 and is movable to adjust roller 16. Upper roller 15 is driven by a hydraulic motor (18) and carried on bearings 19 adjustable along the chute. The chute is carried by parallel, pivotable links 37, 38 on beam 33 which is pivoted at 34 to vehicle 31 and rests on stop 52. Adjustment of collar 46 moves link 38 relative to beam 33 and thus adjusts the height of the chute. The chute may be raised by hydraulic ram 51 acting via beam 33, rod 47 and link 38. The cleaning machine may be mounted at the rear of a vehicle having apparatus for heating and cutting a road surface.
