Abstract

1307702 Measuring permeter of a movement material electrically STATNI VYZKUMNY USTAV TEXTILNI 4 June 1970 [6 March 1969 (2)] 10330/70 Heading G1N Irregularities in a parameter, e.g. weight or volume, of an advancing material, e.g. laps or yarns are detected by a transducer 1 whose output is proportional to the deviations of a notional mean value set by a potentiometer 6 this signal being passed through one of a number of filters 3, 4, 5, 20 amplified at 7, optionally corrected for sign and/or squared at 10, and integrated at 13 over a predetermined time, the signal prior to integration having been attenuated relative to the time of integration and to a limitation factor of the integrator by a voltage divider 12 so that the display on a meter 16 is representative of the desired output. A number of different measurements are made possible by the choice of the filter 3, 4, 5, or 20. For measuring mean deviation circuit 4, i.e. a straight connection is selected. The attenuated signal is integrated over a time determined by a relay 15 and the output is passed to meter 16 via switch 17. To measure the deviation of the next section of material the last value is utilized being fed to the amplifier 7 via switch 18 together with an adjusting voltage from potentiometer 8 so that for this section measurements are made relative to the mean value found in the preceding section. Filter 3 is a high pass filter, eliminating low frequency components from the input signal. Filter 5 is a low pass filter which is used when long sections of the yarn are being evaluated, this filter having the effect of notionally cutting the yarn into short sections, the mean values of these sections being utilized. Filter 20 is a band pass filter such as to eliminate high and low frequency components from the signal utilized.
