Abstract

1307512 Rotary cutter PARR EQUIPMENT CO Ltd 6 March 1970 [9 Dec 1968] 58468/68 Heading B3C A rotary cutter for producing conical annular grooves in the ends of nuts, comprises a body 1, having a slide 11 secured thereto by a pin 14, a cutter bit 12 in the slide, a sleeve 4 pinned to the body at 3, and a head 6 keyed to the sleeve at 7, 8, and urged away from the tapered shank 2 of the body by a spring 9. The cutter is located in the bore of a nut by a pilot 15, moved axially until head 6 engages the nut and movement ceases, whereupon body 1 continues to move axially and slide 11, along with cutter bit 12, moves radially outwardly so as to form a conical annular groove in the face of the nut.
