Abstract

1303648 Dyeing anodized aluminium IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 9 Oct 1970 [27 Oct 1969] 52449/69 Heading C7B Anodized aluminium is dyed by immersing in a boiling solution or dispersion of a dye in a halogenated hydrocarbon e.g. trichloroethylene, perchloroethylene, 1,1, 1-trichloroethane 1, 1, 2-trichloro-1, 2, 2-trifluoroethane and methylene chloride. Prior to dyeing the anodized aluminium may be dried in a halogenated hydrocarbon, and subsequent to dyeing it may be rinsed in boiling halogenated hydrocarbon and immersed in boiling water or steam. The drying and dyeing baths may contain a surface active agent.
