Abstract

1303407 Training in dentistry KALTENBACH & VOIGT 24 Sept 1971 [29 Oct 1970] 44753/71 Heading G5G Apparatus for training in dentistry comprises a table top 2 below which a bar 4 is mounted by means of a pivot joint 3 so as to be rotatable about its axis and capable of longitudinal movement in lockable fashion, a dummy head 5 and neck 13 being connected to the bar by means of a ball joint 14 having a socket 15 which is securely connected to either the bar (as shown) or the neck, the plane 16 of the opening edge of the socket forming an angle of substantially 45 degrees with the axis of either the bar or the neck respectively. The arm 11 which supports the bar can be pivoted through 90 degrees so that the apparatus simulates a patient in the sitting, rather than lying, position. The mouth opening of the dummy head may comprise a water outlet extending through the neck to discharge water sprayed into the mouth opening during treatment.
