Abstract

1303334 Polyolefin compositions KABELUND METALLWERKE GUTEHOFFNUNGSHUTTE AG 16 Sept 1970 [17 Sept 1969] 44266/70 Heading C3P [Also in Division H1] Compositions for cable and wire insulation comprise a solid olefin polymer and one or more voltage stabilizers constituted by polymerizable cyclic compounds or polymers thereof. The preferred polyolefin is polyethylene, and specified cyclic compounds are styrene, divinylbenzene and vinyl carbazole. The cyclic compound may be introduced into the polyolefin, optionally together with polymerization catalysts, by impregnating a polyolefin granulate before moulding, or by diffusion into the fabricated insulation.
