Abstract

1302409 Blending particulate reagents XEROX CORP 6 Feb 1970 [10 Feb 1969] 5776/70 Heading B1X A process of blending a plurality of particulate materials, for example analytical reagents, comprises forming a slurry of the finely divided materials in an inert carrier, blending the slurried mixture to produce a homogeneous mixture and removing the inert carrier without affecting the chemical activity of the mixture or disturbing the uniformity of blend. The inert carrier is preferably 1,1,2-trichloro- 1,2,2 trifluoroethane; also mentioned are 1,1, 2,2-tetrachloro-1,2-difluoroethane; 1,1,2,2, tetra fluoro-1,2 dibromoethane, trichloromonofluoromethane. The particulate materials are preferably initially reduced to finer than 200 mesh and blended with the inert carrier in proportion 1 grm to 0.75-2 mls, then the carrier is removed by vacuum evaporation.
