1301279 Rain gauges PLESSEY CO Ltd 1 June 1970 [6 March 1969] 12000/69 Heading G1X A rain gauge comprises a funnel 1 for collecting rain water and a tubular outlet 2 which extends into the interior of the funnel 1 to form a reservoir 5 which is filled with antifreeze liquid. Any rain falling into the funnel passes to the reservoir so that the reservoir 5 will overflow and supply liquid through the outlet 2 to a container 3, the outlet 2 being preferably provided with a perforated cover or upstanding wires 6 to prevent any solid matter falling into the funnel from being directed to the container.
