Abstract

1301036 Trichloromethyl isocyamide di- Chloride BAYER AG 22 May 1970 [24 May 1969] 24978/70 Heading C2C Trichloromethyl isocyamide dichloride is prepared by chlorination of a compound of formula R 1 R 2 NCOCl, in which each of R 1 and R 2 is methyl, chloromethyl, dichloromethyl or trichloromethyl, R 1 and R 2 together containing at least two chlorine atoms, or a mixture of such compounds, at 200-350‹ C. in a fluidized bed of activated carbon. The starting material may be a mixture obtained by chlorination of dimethyl carbamoyl chloride by irradiation with ultraviolet light.
