Abstract
1300543 Diamond synthesis G H GREENHALGH 30 Dec 1969 [30 Sept 1968] 46377/68 Heading C1A Synthetic diamond is produced by reducing a carbon compound which is substantially free of hydrogen at 500-1500‹ K. and 20,000- 70,000 atmospheres. Reduction of hexachloro - ethane with sodium metal dispersed on NaCl and reduction of hexachlorobenzene with lithium dispersed on LiCl are exemplified.
