Abstract

1300242 Ink ribbon mechanism RICOH KK 4 Feb 1970 [20 Feb 1969] 5303/70 Heading B6F An ink ribbon 36 is fed between spools driven by ratchet wheels 4, 5 engaged by drive pawls 10a, 11a pivoted to a member 9 which is oscillated on operation of print mechanism (not shown), the feed mechanism including ribbon feed reversal mechanism actuated in response to engagement of a stop such as 37a with pins such as 34a, 35a on a sliding bar 30, the bar being connected to a bell crank lever 26 which acts through a bowed spring 29 on a pin 18 mounted on a pivotable member 23, the pin acting to disengage one pawl 10a or 11a from its respective ratchet wheel and to engage the other pawl with its ratchet wheel by pivoting L-shaped levers 16, 20 with the aid of springs 17, (21, Fig. 1), the levers 16, 20 having respective ends 16a, 20a which act as detent pawls for their respective ratchet wheels. Leaf springs (38a, 38b) engage the ratchet wheels 4, 5 respectively and act as brakes to prevent slackening of the ribbon.
