Abstract
1299609 Electrically driven cameras NIPPON KOGAKU KK 29 Dec 1969 [28 Dec 1968] 63114/69 Heading G2A A camera in which the film wind and shutter tensioning are effected by an electric motor has a changeover arrangement whereby the camera can take either single shot exposures or a continuous sequence. As shown, the motor M drives a gear train 1, 2, 3, 4, the gear 4 being unitary with a cam 5 having a flange 5a. A spring 6 biases the cam 5 to the left, but it can slide to the right, against the spring, on a shaft 8. Shaft 8 is integral with a roller 7 and also a bevel gear 8a. Gear 8a engages with another bevel gear 9 mounted on a shaft which has at one end a coupling 10, this coupling engaging with means to wind on the film and wind up the shutter. The shutter is released by a pin 12, which is urged downwards by a spring 13 against a lever 11 whose other end bears against the flange 5a. Fig.1 shows the position just after the shutter has been released, and a switch S 3 has been opened by an operating button 17. The circuit arrangement is such that the motor M is energized, and causes the cam 5 to rotate in the direction of the arrow. At the same time gear 9 is driven to wind on the film and set the shutter. When the winding is completed, rotation of the coupling 10 is stopped by a stop member (not shown), and thus gears 9 and 8a are also stopped. The motor, however, continues to rotate cam 5, which accordingly is caused to slide to the right. Hence a spring- loaded lever 14 which bears against flange 5a is allowed to pivot clockwise and thus changes over a switch S 2 , which stops the motor. The changeover switch S 4 in the full line position closes the contact S, this being the setting for single shot operation. When button 17 is pressed to close switch S 3 , the motor is energized. As cam 5 is rotated it moves to the left, so that lever 11 is pivoted clockwise, so actuating the shutter release pin 12 upwards. At the same time lever 14 is pivoted anti-clockwise so that switch S 2 is changed over, and the motor stops. When button 17 is released, the motor rotates again, and the film and shutter wind are operated as described above. When the changeover switch is moved to the broken line position (C 0 ), and switch S 3 is now closed, the motor continues rotating and performs a continuous series of exposures by repeating the shutter release and winding stages. When button 17 is released the motor stops rotating after the film wind and shutter setting operations are completed. A remote control switch S 5 can be used instead of switch S 3 . A modification of the control circuit Fig.3 (not shown) allows the time between completion of the shutter release and initiation of the winding step to be varied by adjusting a variable resistor.
