Abstract

1299440 Segmental punch and die W H SMITH & SONS (TOOLS) Ltd 24 April 1970 [2 May 1969] 22453/69 Heading B5A [Also in Division E2] A casing of a plunger catch is made by mould - ing using a punch 30 and a die 31. The punch 30, Figs. 4 and 6, has four segments 41 having part cylindrical outer surfaces 42, the segments being spaced apart by distances commensurate with the thicknesses of four webs 36, Fig. 5, provided in a cavity 32 of the die 31, each web having a portion 36 which extends to a side wall 37 of the cavity 32 and having a portion 38, Fig. 4. A boss 33 is also provided in the cavity 32 and extends from a bottom wall 34 thereof to the webs 35. The boss 33 is tapered at 40, Fig. 4.
