Abstract
1299231 Thionothiolphosphonic acid esters BAYER AG 21 Oct 1970 [31 Oct 1969] 50006/70 Heading C2P The invention comprises compounds of Formula I where R is C 1-4 alkyl, R<SP>1</SP> is phenyl, mono-, di- or tri-halophenyl, (C 1-4 alkyl) phenyl, (C 1-4 alkyl) mercaptophenyl, (C 1-4 alkyl) (C 1-4 alkyl) mercaptophenyl, (C 1-4 alkoxy) phenyl or (C 1-4 alkyl) halophenyl, R<SP>11</SP> is (C 1-4 alkyl) mercapto or cyano and n is 1 or 2, which may be prepared by reacting the corresponding alkyl-O-phenylthionothiol phosphonic acid, in the form of an alkali metal or ammonium salt or in the presence of an acid-binding agent, with a compound of the formula Hal-(CH 2 )n-R<SP>11</SP>, where Hal is halogen. Potassium ethyl -O-(3-chlorophenyl)-thionothiolphosphonate may be prepared by reacting ethyl- O - (3 - chlorophenyl) - thionophosphonic acid chloride with potassium hydrogen sulphide. Potassium ethyl-O- (4-methylmercaptophenyl)- thionothiolphosphonate may be prepared by reacting ethyl - O - (4 - methylmercaptophenyl)- thionophosphonic acid chloride with potassium hydrogen sulphide. The compounds of Formula I have insecticidal and acaricidal properties and may be used as the active ingredients in conventional pesticidal compositions.
