Abstract
129,681. Letord, E. Aug. 12, 1916, [Convention date]. Steering and balancing.-In a dual control gear for aeroplanes, the rear control lever is constructed so that it may be turned down out of the way when not in use, in order to allow free movement of the second pilot for operating a gun &c. Control levers 1, 2 are movable about pivots o, o<1> for operating the elevators, and are fit. ted with hand-wheels A, B controlling cables 7 leading to the ailerons. The rear lever 2 is jointed at 6 so that it may be turned down into a fixed spring .socket. When the lever 2 is required for use, the joint 6 is covered by a sleeve 9. The lever 2 is connected to its pivot o<1> by an arm a<1>.
