Abstract
1296645 Grain-refined brass; heat treatment OLIN CORP 28 May 1971 17965/71 Heading C7A A composite material consisting of at least two materials one at least of which is a brass containing 5-35% Zn and one or more of Fe, Co, P, Ca as grain growth inhibitor is cold worked and annealed at 575-1000‹C. toeffectrecrystallisation and produce a grain size in the brass of 0À005 to 0À025 mm. The preferred ranges of inhibitor are 0À4-3% Fe, 0À1-1À5% Co, up to 0À1% P, up to 0À1% Ca. The material may be used for heat exchangers, electrical and builders fittings, automotive components, shipping containers and decorative purposes.
