Abstract

1295137 L-homoseryl-L-lysine by fermentation KYOWA HAKKO KOGYO CO Ltd 6 May 1970 [20 May 1969] 21895/70 Heading C2C L-homoseryl-L-lysine is prepared by culturing a micro-organism capable of producing it under aerobic conditions in an aqueous nutrient medium containing an assimilable source of carbon, inorganic compounds and a nitrogen source, accumulating the product in the resultant culture liquor and recovering it therefrom. The micro-organism is suitably Corynebacterium hydrocarboclastus (ATCC 21267). The carbon source is suitably a (C 10 -C 45 ) aliphatic hydrocarbon, a carbohydrate or a petroleum fraction, e.g. one containing at least one (C 11 -C 18 ) nparaffin. The culturing is preferably carried out at a temperature of from 25‹ to 50‹ C. and a pH of from 6 to 8.
