1294650 Carotene stabilizers ORDENA TRUDOVOGO KRASNOGO ZNAMENI INSTITUT ORGANICHESKOGO SINTEZA AKADEMII NAUK LATVIISKOI SSR 22 July 1970 [22 July 1969] 35425/70 Headings A2D and A2B [Also in Division C2] Carotene and materials containing carotene (e.g. animal foods) are stabilized by incorporating thereinto the compounds of formula: wherein R is (C 1-6 ) alkyl or an alkoxy group. The following stabilizers are specified: 2, 6-dimethyl-3, 5-diacetyl-1, 4-dihydropyridine, and 2, 6-dimethyl-3, 5-dicarboethoxydihydropyridine.
