Abstract

1293147 Pipe joints SCOVILL MFG CO 15 Oct 1970 [16 Oct 1969] 50817/69 Heading F2G A pneumatic circuit assembly in which valve units 14 are connected to a plurality of nozzles 25 by connecting elements 23 and flexible tubing 28, comprises a base member 11 with through holes 18 in registration with ports 16 of the valve units. Each connecting element 23 has a cylindrical shank 22, Fig. 4, which is cemented in a counterbored portion 21 of the holes 18, and one or more nipples 30. Flexible tubing 28 fits over the nipples 30 and nipples 27 on the nozzles 25. The other ends 26 of the nozzles 25 have means 32 for connection to conduits leading, for example, to machinery or other devices. 0-rings 17, which are seated in recesses in the valve unit ports 16, are compressed against the base portion 12 when screws 19 are tightened into the base. The assembly may be mounted by depending flanges 31 or the base member 11 may be planar and mounted on stand-off posts. The base portion 11 and the connecting elements 23 may be of plastics or metal, e.g. aluminium, the elements 23 being either moulded or assembled from parts and cemented together.
