Abstract

1293102 Igniters for gas stoves ORBAICETA SA 22 June 1971 [2 Dec 1970] 29299/71 Headings F4F and F4T An ignition device for a gas stove indicated partially as a panel 5 comprises a burner 3 having a main flame aperture 7 to ignite the stove and a second aperture 9 to direct a flame on to the sensitive end of a thermocouple 4 which then at a predetermined temperature opens a gas valve supplying gas to the stove, and on ignition of the stove the heat therefrom maintains the gas valve open allowing the burner 3 to be extinguished. Should the stove be subsequently extinguished, the absence of heat from panel 5 will cause the thermocouple to close the gas valve for safety. The burner 3 has combustion air inlet vents 10 and the burner and thermocouple are both mounted on a bracket 2. The main flame aperture consists of two side apertures joined by a slit.
