Abstract

1292466 Punching; stamping INTERNATIONAL STANDARD ELECTRIC CORP 4 Dec 1969 [11 Dec 1968] 59274/69 Headings B3Q and B3W To enable material to be punched (or embossed) at at least two different locations 61, 62 which are close or actually break through into each other, a jig 66 is used which has as many different positions for retaining material as there are locations to be punched, the jig having an aperture associated with each position. The jig is correctly located relative to a punch by engaging a die in one of the jig apertures, material in the position associated with that aperture is punched, the material is moved to the other or another position and punched again. Similar pieces of material may be punched simultaneously using the different positions and then moved to other positions for a second and subsequent, if any, punching. Each location may consist of several points 62 spaced apart, the jig having an aperture for each point.
