Abstract

1292183 Photographic film units POLAROID CORP 5 March 1970 [6 March 1969] 10702/70 Heading G2C Photographic film units which include a first photo-sensitive sheet and a second sheet and are particularly for multi-colour diffusion transfer processes are prepared by a process comprising (1) coating a support with a silver halide emulsion layer to form the first sheet (2) coating either the emulsion layer of the second sheet with a non-aqueous solution of a polymer which is soluble in aqueous alkali and drying, (3) laminating the sheets together using an aqueous solution of a film-forming polymer and drying. The bond at the margin of the laminate along an edge at a layer between the silver halide layer and the imagereceiving layer may be delaminated or weakened. Specifically a multilayer silver halide film is laminated to an image-receiving sheet having a cellulose triacetate backing using cellulose acetate hydrogen phthalate, hydroxyethyl methacrylate and vinyl acetate polymers in step (2) and hydroxypropyl cellulose in step (3) and using the apparatus disclosed in Specification 1,281,590.
