Abstract

1289763 Actuation of camera shutters and diaphragms CANON K K 7 May 1970 [10 May 1969] 22021/71 Heading G2A A shutter or diaphragm of the pre-setting type has a blade actuator frame 1 carrying at least three equally circumferentially spaced magnets and a stationary supporting member carrying electromagnetic coils 2 corresponding in number and spacing to the magnets, a switching circuit controlling the current supplied to the coils from a power supply. The coils are arranged in an angular direction, as shown, or in a radial direction, Fig.2 (not shown) or in an axial direction parallel to the optical axis of an objective, Fig.3 (not shown). A spring may bias frame 1 to a set position and thus return the frame thereto upon de-energization of the coils, or the switching circuit may simply reverse the direction of the applied current. A capacitor is included in the switching current to provide an initial operating pulse. A transistor circuit, Fig. 5 (not shown), may be used to reverse the current.
