1289460 Primary cells A A SILVA IMOVEIS COMERCIO E INDUSTRIA SARL 19 April 1971 20439/71 Heading H1B A cylindrical dry cell of the type having a cylindrical zinc body and a carbon rod electrode is provided with a leak-proof two-part moulded plastics casing comprising a lower portion a in which is fitted, during the moulding process, a sheet tin or zinc pot to receive the zinc body of the cell as a force-fit and an upper portion b adapted to slidably engage with the portion a and provided with a groove c to receive the upper edges of the zinc body and in which is fitted a brass cap (also during the moulding process) to make contact with the carbon electrode. Adhesive is applied at the mating section of the two parts of the casing to provide a complete seal. (For Figures see next column.)
