1288533 Tube expanders RESISTOFLEX CORP 21 May 1971 [1 June 1970] 16445/71 Heading B3J In a roller-type tube-expander the tapered mandrel 24 has a non-rigid end 38 for preventing inward escape of the rollers 22 from the cage 23. Thus a fitting (10), Fig. 4 (not shown), may be connected to a pipe close to a bend without limitation caused by extension of the mandrel beyond the cage. The end 38 may be a beadchain or a strand, e.g. a piece of wire. A groove in the bearing housing 20 locates the housing in a clamp (17) holding the fitting.
