Abstract
1288109 Dispensing measured quantities of fluent material A M KRUGER 4 Sept 1970 [21 Oct 1969] 42459/70 Heading B8N A device for dispensing measured quantities of fluent material, e.g. liquid or granular material, comprises a hollow body 2 rotatably mounted in a casing 1 and having openings 9, 10, and a flexible diaphragm 6 in the body. With the body in the position shown material from inlet 3 will pass through opening 9 and into the space defined by the diaphragm and the body portion including opening 9. Rotation of the body to bring opening 10 into register with the inlet and opening 9 into register with the outlet will result in inflow of material from the inlet into the body via opening 10 thereby assisting discharge of material via opening 9 and the outlet 4. The body is such that the volumes of material dispensed via both the openings are the same. The casing is substantially cylindrical and the body is extended in the direction of the axis of rotation beyond the ends of the casing (Fig. 2, not shown). Metal mesh 11 is provided in both openings 9, 10 to support the diaphragm when the latter is pressed thereagainst. A wash or cleaning fluid inlet 5 is provided, and the inlet pipe 3 and inlet 5 are both valve controlled.
