1287482 Covering cores by winding ETABS EMILE HAEFELY SA 9 Dec 1969 [10 Dec 1968] 59926/69 Heading B8G An apparatus for wrapping a conductor bundle 20 with at least one tape comprises at least one pair of synchronously operable parallel rollers 42, 42<SP>1</SP> which are displaceable relatively to each other in a direction perpendicular to their axis in order to clamp a conductor bundle between them, and at least one tape wind-off spool 52 that is rotatable about the conductor 20 as well as its own axis. In Fig. 4 the conductor bundle 20 passes between three pairs of opposed horizontal rollers and three pairs of opposed vertical rollers, the rollers being biased towards each other by hydraulic means. The rotating annulus 50 carries three wind-off spools 51, 52, 53 for tapes. In Fig. 2 (not shown) the horizontal rollers are replaced by non-rotatable pressing means 37 and 38. The horizontal rollers or the non-rotatable pressing means may be heated.
