Abstract

1287334 Vehicle electrical control systems ESSEX INTERNATIONAL Inc 16 Feb 1970 [14 Feb 1969] 7345/70 Heading H2H [Also in Divisions F1 and G4] A vehicular electrical-fluidic control system comprises a harness 11 having both electrical and fluid supply and control lines whereby the load devices of a vehicle, both electrically operated and fluid operated may be controlled. The control system includes one or more sender units 44 which, under the control of a manual or automatic controller 45, imparts to a signal line 34 in the harness 11 coded information indicative of the load devices it is desired to actuate. Each load device such as 48, 51 is operated by means of a receiver unit such as 46, 49 which receiver units are selectively energized by the requisite signal in the coded information transmitted along the signal line 34. The sender unit comprises a binary counter (Fig. 3, not shown) having four flip-flop stages together with an AND gate and an amplifier, the binary counter being actuated by clock pulses from a clock 42 along a clock line 35 in the harness 11. Each receiver unit also comprises a binary counter (Fig. 4, not shown) having four flip-flop stages actuated by the clock pulses in clock line 35, the receiver unit further including an AND gate and two J-K flip-flops, from the second of which is taken the signal to actuate the associated load device. Each of the receiver units and the sender unit are provided with a reset circuit which comprises two J-K flip-flops and an AND gate so that all the receiver units and the sender unit can be reset in a cyclic manner in synchronism by a reset unit 38 which is actuated by clock pulses in the clock line 35 and which transmits the reset signal over the signal line 34.
